The University of Nairobi has partnered with Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri E.A), to set up a University-wide ArcGis site license software. This follows a series of meetings which culminated in the signing of an MoU between the University of Nairobi and Esri Eastern Africa.
This initiative targets all the departments and Colleges in the University of Nairobi where all GIS laboratories will have access to the main server where the license will be installed.
This is part of Esri (East Africa) mission to reach out to high education institution and build the much-needed capacity in spatial data management and analysis. The university stands to gain through enhanced training and research in the various programs it offers.
