The 4th JUAMI school was held at the University of Nairobi Towers in Nairobi, Kenya from June 18-30, 2023 under the theme: Materials for Sustainable Energy and was organized by the Department of Physics. This school, like the previous three, had a broad international participation from US, Israel, Europe, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethopia, Kenya and other african countries.
The next JUAMI school will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, June 18 – 30, 2023. The local host
will be the University of Nairobi, and participants will be housed in the Nairobi Safari Club
Hotel, just a short walk from the university campus.
The UoN Astro Group at the Department of Physics is planning will hold a public lecture titled: "The Intersection Between Astronomy and Computer Science" on Friday 26th May, 2023 at 4:30 PM at the SPS Boardroom - FST.
The department has been able to 3D print N95 masks. This are hard and soft plastic shields in the shape of a mask with the ability to replace 3 filter materials to be able to meet the N95 mask specifications.
The department currently has three 3D printers that are also used for other types of printing of proto-types and other application models.
